The Cali Crusher is easily one of the best smell-proof backpacks available. It’s great for students, travelers, and headie brahs of all ages. I really like how the zippers lock into the combination lock similar to a built-in luggage lock.

They did the zipper lock right by designing it to blend in with the surrounding fabric and keeping it low profile. The design makes it more difficult for outsiders to see the lock. The last thing you want is a lock that draws extra attention.

No one will know what’s inside this bag since it’s legit 100% smell proof. Another great feature is the interior zipper sleeve that’s large enough to hold a laptop. You also get just enough pockets without the overkill. Last but not least, the materials are durable and water-resistant.

Cookies SF brand is so headie that they don’t feel the need to list the dimensions of their bags. I’m also not 100% sure about the weight. The one thing I am sure of is I love the design.

The quilted pattern is a unique touch. I envision my fellow Disco Biscuits fan and friend, Mary Jane, wearing this bag the way it was meant to be worn. I’m a fan of gold accents, and the Berner V3 Quilted features a gold emblem and gold trim.

The double zippers are heavy-duty and reliable. The new Cookies zippers release in opposite directions with stoppers to catch them. The new features provide better odor protection to keep even the dankest scents trapped inside the bag. Could the Cookies V3 Quilted be my cheese bag dream come true?

The soft interior with a laptop sleeve is beckoning my touch.

My Skunk Urban Review

Meet the Skunk Urban, this bag is on a whole different level. There’s literally a velcro flap that goes over the top panel on the bag to cover the combination zipper lock. That’s the coolest feature I’ve seen and one of the main reasons this bag is on my list of best smell proof backpacks.

I also love the design of this bag and favor the denim variety. The internal organization is solid as well with an interior zip pocket plus a tablet sleeve. The one drawback is the top handle doesn’t look very sturdy. The shoulder straps aren’t really doing it for me either.

Other than those minor flaws, I’m digging the Skunk Urban for skaters, students, and city folk who rock streetwear.

My favorite feature? The zipper lock is the coolest lock of any smell proof bag on this list. It reminds me of how a money bag zipper locks. Plus, each lock is uniquely keyed. Yep, that’s how far Dime Bags went to boost the security of this pack.

My Skunk Rogue Review

Meet the Roll-Up’s little brother, the Skunk Rogue. The Rogue pack has more of an outdoorsy feel than the Roll-Up and is smaller. The Roll-Up also has more padding in the back panel than the Rogue. No hidden rear pocket on the Rogue as well.

The net side pockets and weatherproof front pocket are the main advantages of the Rogue over the Roll-Up. Oh yeah, no hip and sternum straps on the Rogue either. Overall, the Rogue is better as a daypack and costs a good chunk less than the [Fruit] Roll-up.

My Smoke Cartel Review

The Smoke Cartel is another cheap smell proof backpack that’s not cheaply made. I like it more than the Funk Fighter, and it only costs a few bucks more. The biggest drawback to me is the “Smoke Cartel” logo on the front of the bag. It’s not easy to read from far away, but up close, people can read it.

The words “smoke” and “cartel” aren’t the type of words that make people think happy thoughts when they read them. The wider shoulder straps are nice, plus the diamond-pattern padded back panel.

The dog-tested feature is a solid selling point. I think this bag would have come in handy for me to avoid getting suspended in high school.

First off, I love the bear logo on this bag. I think Smokeyz has the best logo of all the brands. The only problem is it’s not discreet since the bear has red eyes. Keep that in mind before you choose one of the best smell proof backpacks in this guide.

The entire pack isn’t smell proof. That’s another factor to consider before buying the Smokeyz pack. What I do love about this bag besides the logo is the secret odor-proof stash pocket on the side of the bag.

My Skunk Nomad Review

If you’re a skater, then the Skunk Nomad is your gear’s Shangri-La. What I like most about the Nomad is the front pockets are also carbon-lined (the entire pack is odor-proof). This is great for lazy pros like me who don’t want to reach deep into their bag to grab their gear in the middle of a skate session.

If you live in Cal or Colorado, there’s no reason to hide your stuff too deep. The key is the smell proof protection.

The easy-access zip pocket at the top of the bag for sunglasses and other small items is a nice touch. You also get a padded laptop sleeve and a bunch of internal organization.

If the word “Skunk” on the bottom skate strap bothers you, I recommend going with the black version. Since I’m a skater and appreciate organization, the Skunk Nomad is in my top 3 overall picks.

My Dime Bags Review

The Dime Bags Urban backpack is the brand’s flagship bag and one of the best hemp backpacks available. Keep in mind, the entire bag isn’t smell-proof. For this reason, I included this pack as an added bonus.

What I do like about this bag is the internal stash pocket that Dime Bags keeps secret until you receive your bag. The bag comes with a smell proof clear poly bag. What you do is put your gear inside the polybag then hide it inside the internal stash pocket.

Yup, it’s not completely smell-proof, but it gets the job done when used with the smell/spill-proof bag that’s included. It also comes in a ton of different colors. The Timber is my personal favorite and the most Reggae agreeable.

Be sure to consider the quality of the double zipper system before choosing your odor proof bag. I also like it when the zipper side flaps have extra fabric to seal around the zipper.

Carbon Filtration

Carbon-lined smell proof backpacks are currently the gold standard, and this most likely won’t change until innovative growers figure out an even better way to neutralize dank odors. Carbon filtration is the same type of filtration used in the giant can filters you may have seen inside a grow room.

Carbon does an incredible job of filtering air and water. Be sure the odor-proof backpack you choose includes carbon-lining.

Combination Locks and Zipper Locks

Odor-Proof Bags and Containers

If you’re low on funds and can’t afford a smell-proof backpack at the moment, a more affordable option is a smell-proof bag or container. Smell-proof bags and containers are a lot smaller than backpacks, and you can hide them anywhere.
